I've loved Mary Downing Hahn for years, so I was super excited to see that she had new story coming out, and even more excited when I was able to get a copy early.

This spooky story of a family, new to a rural town, was fantastic!  I loved the true to life dynamics between thirteen-year-old Daniel and Erica, his seven-year-old sister.  The way they interacted, and fought, felt natural.  As an adult, I  felt it was more of a story about how a family could either bind together in times of trial, or fall apart; however, the spooky factor in this novel will definitely bring chills to the spines of all readers, young and old.

Took is an excellent addition to any library, as an option for fans of creepy mysteries.  I've definitely added it to my list of Halloween recommendations.
